Bad Beat and Suckout Memoirs

Bad Beat Professors

♠ March 30th, 2008 by ♣ zilbob

Hello fellow grinders.  This entry is not going to be a recap of my poker session.  This time I have a question out there for everyone.  Here is the deal, bad beats happen to all of us, there is always a suckout and our aces often get cracked by far inferior hands by donkeys that raise into our bullets with 9,6 suited.  It is extremely frustrating and sometimes it feels as though all the poker gods are conspiring against us everytime we get a big hand to make sure all the douche bags are at our table and will call anything just because they want to see what will happen.  Here is my question, when this happens why do some of us feel the need to start teaching these donkeys how to play poker?  I mean I get that you are frustrated, but so frustrated you have to start yelling WHY ARE YOU EVEN IN THAT HAND?????  YOU SHOULD HAVE FOLDED THAT BEFORE THE FLOP!!!  YOU SHOULD ONLY BE IN WITH PREMIUM HANDS AT THIS POINT DONKEY!!!!  Why do we turn into “Bad Beat Professors?”  Would it not make more sense to just take your licks knowing the odds are in your favor and 95 times out of 100 (or possibly more) you are going to take this guys money?  Just sit there, shut your mouth and know that you now have a great idea of how this fish plays and use it to empty their pockets.  What is our compulsion to teach these morons how to play.  Here is my advice to all you “Bad Beat Professors”, let’s continue to let the donkeys of the poker world be just that, donkeys and we just take our bad beats and let them suckout 5 times so we can take their money 95 times.  That being said I think it is fine to help your fellow man out just don’t do it on the tables.  If you take a bad beat and get knocked out of a tournament don’t feel the need to leave with the parting words of telling the other player exactly why he is a donkey and how he should have played it, just let those of us still in the tournament and actually know how to play the game rip him apart and allow him to remain the donkey he is.
