Counterfeitting

One of the worst bad beats out there is the counterfeit. And I recently had the pleasure of experience this gem of an ass rape. I am playing in a 360 person sit-n-go satellite for Poker After Dark and there are 10 people left in the game. I am pretty low stacked as a result of the blinds being so high but pretty much everyone is in the same position. I am on the button and have A-8. There is one caller to the big blind when it comes to me. I raise to 3 times the big blind. The blinds fold and the original caller calls my raise. The flop comes J-J-8. My opponent checks and I move all-in with a pot sized bet. My opponent thinks for a while and eventually calls. I flip over my two pair and they turn big slick, giving them nothing. The turn brings air so they are down to just a few outs and 1 card to go. Then comes the river . . . that damn river. ACE!!!! Giving me Aces and Jacks with an 8 kicker to their Aces and Jacks with a K kicker. WTF!!!!! No final table? No push to be the winner and move to the next round because I was out kicked on the river. Sometimes you play the hand perfectly and it just doesn’t work out. Counterfeiting is definitely one of the worst because it usually improve you hand while it destroys it all at the same time. Thoughts???

About bad beats..
I was in a 4 Headups 200$ buy-in.
Won my first match..
Last hand…
Stack where almost even.. I get AA.
Raise preflop … get called.. flop shows 8Q5
moved all in .. get call by J5. Rivers shows a 5.. Crazy isnt it ? odds of this one ?
I still can’t believe why with 90% chance to win (not on this hand) in your hand almost 1/2 you lose the hand..
I got that on http://FTP.. I can’t tell you how frustrated i was…
On the other side .. i won some pretty cool hands.. like pocket KK. 3 others guys in the game.. flop comes AKA .. lol.. almost absolutely nuts.. since there was not raise preflop i decided to play it slow.. one guy made a smooth raised get geraised by the other when i moved all in .. lol.. and what i expected came out .. one had A10, other had AJ. funny & both where out.

I had this happen at a final table in a tournament in Vegas 2 years ago. It brought back memories of how angry I was that night when reading your post. Great blog by the way.

IF YOU THINK THAT IS BAD LISTEN TO THIS I AM ON A SMALL TABLE I GET 88 I RAISE 3 TIMES BLINDS I GET CALLED THE FLOP IS AA8 I THINK YES I HIT FULL I DECIDE TO GO ALLIN AS IF HE HAS ACE HE CAN PAIR TABLE OR HIT HIGHER CARD FOR BIGGER FULL SO I GO ALLIN TO GET CALLED WITH GET THIS CALLED WITH J 6 OFF WITH NO CHANCE OF STRAIGHT OR FLUSH THE TURN COMES JACK THEN JACK ON RIVER I NEARLY SMASHED MY PC UP I MEAN WTF WAS HE CALLING MY ALLIN FOR WHEN HES ONLY OUTS WAS J AND J THINGS LIKE THIS ANNOY ME WHEN COMPLETE MORONS HIT 0.1% CHANCES LIKE 8 OUT OF 10 TIMES AND THE SITE LETS THEM GET AWAY WITH IT AS FOR RANDOM CARDS THATS BULL
